This particular hall features 134 columns and is so large that the Notre-Dame Cathedral could fit within its walls, yet it’s only one part of the complex, which covers a stagger 200 acres. Construction here kicked off 4,000 years ago and ran up until the Roman conquest, giving thirty pharaohs the chance to build, tear down, and add their own touches.
